Grading Terms And Procedures
CGA warrants to use due diligence in grading currency. However it makes no other warranties either expressed or implied. All parties recognize that the grading of currency involves professional judgment by experts and the grade assigned to currency may vary from expert to expert.
CGA shall not be liable for any discrepancy or negligence in its handling of currency unless notice in writing is given to CGA within five(5) days of receipt of same by the owner via certified mail return receipt requested.
CGA shall not be liable for any damage to currency resulting from taking said currency out of CGA holder or any other mishandling that has occurred while the currency was in our care.
CGA shall be entitled to its fee for grading the currency notwithstanding the fact the currency fails to meet the minimum grade set by owner or due to the not grading by CGA standards.
CGA shall not be liable for any clerical error in the description or grading of currency; its sole liability shall be limited to correcting currency the clerical error.
CGA will try to grade currency within the time frame allotted for the service. If for any reason CGA is unable to grade said currency in that time, CGA shall have no liability, except for express services which may at our discretion be discounted to regular service rates.
CGA reserves the right to amend, alter and change its terms and conditions without prior notice.
The terms of this agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State Of New York without regard to principles of conflict of laws. Any dispute shall be submitted to arbitration under the rules of The American Arbitration Association. The venue for any dispute shall be in the State Of New York. All parties here to waive trial by jury.

WARNING DO NOT EXPOSE HOLDER TO HEAT. DO NOT LEAVE IN DIRECT SUN. EXPOSURE TO SUN CAN RESULT IN DAMAGE TO HOLDER AND ALSO FADING OF CURRENCY, WHICH WILL DIMINISH THE GRADE OF THE NOTE.
Grading Guarantee
CGA Of Westhampton Beach, NY guarantees that currency submitted to us will be certified with the highest possible standards of professionalism. Currency Grading and Authentication shall only be undertaken by qualified experts in the field. Any customer may resubmit any note for review of the grade assigned by CGA if they believe the note is over-graded or for review of the notes authenticity.
If the note submitted for review by a customer is graded lower than the originally assigned grade, or has questionable authenticity under CGA's internal review practices, CGA shall, at the discretion of CGA, either:
- Purchase the note at fair market value
- Replace the note
- Pay any difference between the current fair market value of the note with its newly assigned grade and the fair market value of the originally assigned grade. Fair market value shall be determined by CGA.
The CGA guarantee shall not apply to:
- Any note not certified by CGA.
- Any note in which its holder has been damaged.
- Any note removed from its sealed holder.
- Any Holder that has been tampered with.
- Any attributional Errors.
- Notes stored in improper conditions, such as but not limited to extreme temperatures, sunlight, moisture, vibrations or Ultraviolet radiation.
- Any note encapsulated prior to April 15th, 2009 or that does not display the CGA * Star * on the back of the holder.
- Any note with a notation of a problem condition printed on its label.
- Any note from the People's Republic of China.
The CGA guarantee shall not apply to clerical errors. The determination of what constitutes a clerical error shall be solely determined by CGA. CGA's sole liability shall be limited to correcting the clerical error. The CGA grading guarantee shall not apply to any note that CGA determines to have a value of more than $10,000.
Limits of Liability
Due to the unique characteristics of currency grading CGA Inc. ("CGA") shall not be liable for any discrepancy in the grading of currency. It is acknowledged that the grading of currency involves individual expert judgment that may vary from expert to expert and time to time. CGA agrees that upon receipt of currency from a client that it will use its best efforts to secure the currency in a safe and satisfactory manner. That it will place said currency in an underwriter's laboratory approved vault with the reasonable security apparatuses in place to ensure the protection of said currency. CGA shall catalog and assign an identification number to all currency upon receipt. CGA its agents and employees shall utilize the latest in computer technology to aid them in the grading process. Grading and authentication of all currency shall only be undertaken by qualified experts in the field. After grading the currency the said currency is then encapsulated in a CGA holder and combined with the appropriate label. Currency shall not be handled except during the grading stage and at that point by currency experts only. We strive to meet the highest standards and needs of our clients...
